Artano 1977 LLC ("we", "our" or "us") operates BuilderCalc at https://buildercalc.co. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and what rights you have over it.

The short version

  • Calculator inputs stay in your browser — we never see them.
  • We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, but only after you accept cookies.
  • We do not sell data. We do not build profiles. We do not send marketing emails.
  • If you contact us, we keep only what you send.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Calculator inputs

All calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Input values (dimensions, currents, voltages, etc.) are never transmitted to our servers and are not stored anywhere outside your device. We have no access to them.

1.2 Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept cookies, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data: pages visited, time on site, country (not city), browser type and screen size. This helps us understand which calculators are most useful and where to focus improvements.

GA4 is gated behind your consent choice. If you decline cookies, no analytics script loads and Google receives nothing. If you accept and later change your mind, clear your browser cookies or use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting — our code respects the DNT header.

1.3 Contact form submissions

When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to reply to you. Messages are not stored in a database — they are delivered to our inbox and retained only as long as necessary to resolve your query.

1.4 Server logs

Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records standard HTTP access logs: IP address, requested URL, date and time, and HTTP status code. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and performance purposes and are not used for marketing.

3. Third-party services

Google Analytics 4: if you accept cookies, data is sent to Google's servers under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We have enabled IP anonymization. You can opt out globally using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising: we intend to display Google AdSense ads in a future update. When enabled, AdSense may set additional cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history. This policy will be updated before that feature is activated.

Fonts and icons: all fonts (Inter, JetBrains Mono) and icons are self-hosted on our own servers. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any third-party CDN for these resources.

4. How we use your information

  • To improve calculator accuracy and usability (analytics data).
  • To respond to contact form messages.
  • To maintain the security and performance of the site (server logs).
  • We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling or marketing.

5. Your rights

European Economic Area — GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics cookies: clear your browser cookies).

California — CCPA

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at info@buildercalc.co.

6. Data retention

Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your query, then deleted. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (the minimum GA4 setting).

7. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add new features (such as advertising). Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
